The MFM Charity Open (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates this website to support the Mike Murray Scholarship Fund benefiting student-athletes in the Central Kitsap School District. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you register a team, donate, volunteer, or pay for a sponsorship, how we use it, and the third parties that help us process payments.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us through our registration, donation, volunteer, and sponsorship forms, which may include:

  • Contact details such as your name, business or organization name, email address, and phone number.
  • Team and player registration details you submit on behalf of yourself and your foursome.
  • Sponsorship details, including the sponsorship tier selected and uploaded logo or artwork.
  • Payment information needed to process your transaction, as described below.

Payment and Bank Account Information

We use Stripe to securely process card and bank (ACH) payments. Card numbers and bank account credentials are submitted directly to Stripe and are not stored on our servers.

For bank (ACH) payments, we use Stripe Financial Connections to verify your bank account instantly. When you choose to link your bank account, Stripe connects to your financial institution on your behalf to confirm account ownership and retrieve the account and routing details needed to complete your payment. We receive only the limited information necessary to process and reconcile your payment (such as a bank name, the last four digits of the account number, and verification status). We do not receive or store your online banking login credentials.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Process registrations, donations, sponsorships, and volunteer sign-ups.
  • Process and verify payments, prevent fraud, and reconcile transactions.
  • Send confirmations, receipts, and charitable contribution acknowledgements.
  • Recognize sponsors on printed signage and at the event using submitted artwork.
  • Contact you about your registration, sponsorship, or tournament-day logistics.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers who help us operate the event and process payments, including Stripe for payment processing and our email service provider for sending receipts and confirmations. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and the safety of others.

Data Retention and Security

We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above, including tax, accounting, and recordkeeping requirements for charitable contributions. We rely on Stripe’s PCI-compliant infrastructure for payment data and take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold.
